Christmas

CHRISTMAS IS COMING!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe I haven't done a post about this yet! Winter Break started yesterday/today. I'm so happy that I don't have to go to school for the rest of the year. BTW, I took an IQ at Free IQ Test and I was surprised by my score of 138. No, I wasn't expecting it to be higher. I was expecting lower you dolt. So, yeah, I guess I've just been really bored.

Dancing

Over the weekend, I had the great pleasure to go to the Region Dance. The region dance is a LDS thing, so, if you confused, and not LDS, that might be why. So, any ways, the Region Dance is where a bunch of stakes from a certain city(also a LDS thing) get together and have a dance. You must be 14-18 and have a dance card. I think they are awesome. At the dance, I got the pleasure to meet Jarom Norris GamermasterJT, and Mister Tery (Doesn't like his real name on the internet, sorry.) so yeah, that was my weekend, it was a whole lot of fun. I think I enjoyed it better than the one at youth conference. So, BYE!

I haven't blogged in a while. According to Jarom. So, any ways, reality town was pretty awesome. I survived with 1500 in savings, I know, awesome. Only with two jobs though. So, anyways, in geography, where doing "Create a Country" presenting today and tomorrow. I didn't present today, (Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) so, I'm presenting tomorrow. My country's called Veni, Vidi, Vici. Or, translated from latin, I came, I saw, I conquered. Pretty sweet huh? So, anyways, many of you know of Jaroms song called Veni, Vidi, Vici, and thanks to him, it's my national anthem. It may not be the best suited, but it's still awesome. So, yeah, thats life for me now.

Reality Town

Reality Town, the 9th grade glimpse into the future. So, yesterday, we got our jobs and how where doing in life. My life stinks. The good part, I got the job I wanted, a Writer, but, that's about all the good is, except, two children, 8&3 year old daughters, if I had a son, that would be great, but I'm good. So anyways, I'm single. Yes, single. I blame my friend Luke Kandaris for this, 'cause he's a doctor. But, I have no idea what happened. If I was making a lot of money, this wouldn't be so stressful, but, I'm making 2,866 a month. That's right, a month. That's not that much. Now, that's including 400 I get from the state for child care and the taxes. With taxes, I get 31,000 a year, not counting the 400. It's not exactly 3,100, but, close enough. So, yeah, I'm in a huge hole. My plan, join army (get paid), get second job (get paid) get economical clothing, thrifty food, apartment, and buss pass. No, I'm not asking for sympathy, I want you to tell me if your doing reality town, and if so, what's your job etc. So, See ya latter!

Smarties

You ever realize how delicious smarties are? I love them! Don't worry, I don't smoke them though. I don't particularly like Canadian smarties though. They're this weird tasting chocolate and *shudder*.
So, anyways, now that that weird stuff is out, let's move on. So, I added some more to Wolf Land, not much thought, yet. I'm hoping to get to, hmm... Chapter 10 by the end of the year. Is that possible? I am only just in Chapter 2, I'll need to work faster, maybe two paragraphs a day? Will that work? I better start getting more ideas...

Bone Warriors

This is a book I just read. It was a great book. Sounds boring doesn't it? Well, let me tell you why it's a great read.
1. Great story line. The story is so tangled and intricate, that you learn not to expect anything, but just read. Derrik and his friend Tweaks live in a village near a forbidden forest. Their families are taken to be used by an evil necromancer to but the dead bones together. Derrick and Tweaks go out to save their families. They are joined by an unlikely alley named Ssaka.
2. Great read. The book just draws you into the world. The details are amazing, and they give everything a look. You can literally be stuck in the book, reading because you can't stop, and seeing everything that's happening.
I was planning on more stuff, but I pretty much explained it all. I highly encourage you all to read Bone Warriors.

So, today was the tenth day of school. School is starting to get boring. But, highlight of today was finding out about Reality Town. Reality Town is a nationwide program aimed to ninth graders to help them prepare for life after school. I'm really excited for it.

Oopsey daisy.

The title says it all. Sorry for lack of postage. So, last week.... I went to my Grandparents house, stayed for two days. On Thursday we went falconing, and fishing, but didn't catch anything. Friday, went fishing, caught a little bit. Hows much is a little bit you ask? Some where around fifty fish is all. Then we came home, and worked on my pen for my falcon, next year. Tell you about that later. Then, Saturday, went to Cherry Hill for a family reunion. It was fun. Then, Sunday, had the temple dedication, and it was indescribable. So, Wednesday, I started school. Farewell summer and all that. Actually, I was excited for school, but I HATE, I LOATH disclousurs. So, news flash, Escapse is now called Wolf Land, it might change, it might not, who knows, but, as always, working title. See ya' latter.

In case any of you where confused, I only have braces on my top teeth, next month, around Sep. 8, I get my bottoms one put on.

So, as most of you know, Dark Troubles is going to be a movie! What?!?! Dark Troubles is going to be a movie? Why didn't I know?! You say? *Sigh* While, you know now, don't you? So, anyways, the script is coming along fine. Where doing pretty good, and almost finished. Dark Troubles 2 is also going well, but, it's not finished yet. Anyways, that is it, Have A Great DAY!

I'm Back!

I'm back! Did you miss me? Oh well, doesn't matter. So, I'm here to explain all about my trip to Canada, what we did, and what we saw. So, here it goes.

Day One:
Woke up around six. Got in the car at 6:30, and drove to Bingham City. Got out at the rest stop, had breakfast, and began our caravan with my family. Drove into Idaho, and then Montana, and arrived at our hotel in Helena, had dinner, and went to bed. That day we saw a lot of birds, bugs, and a Bald Eagle.

Day Two:
Had breakfast at the hotel. Left about 8:00. Waited in line at the border crossing for about half an hour. Got in Canada. Split up, my family went to Coaldale to go to the Bird of Prey Sanctuary, which I was kinda bored at. Then we went to Lethbridge, and did some grocery shopping. We then went to Waterton National Peace Park, and got situated into our hotel.

Day Three:
Went to Church, saw some deer. After Church we went back to our hotel, and had some lunch. Then we went to Cameron Falls, which was pretty cool. Then we had games. (Where I cut my right middle finger pretty badly.) Then we had dinner. That night, the teens played capture the flag, which was really fun. I almost won for my team, I made it really close to the border.

Day Four:
It rained! We did volunteer work pulling weeds. I got a blister doing that. We where going to go to Red Rock Canyon, but, it rained. So, my family went swimming at our hotel area. Then we had a silent auction, dinner, and a Kids Carnival, where I helped with the ring toss. Because of the rain, we watched Kung Fu Panda.

Day Five:
Rained again. On Tuesday, we went to Cardston Temple to do baptisms for the dead. The first person that I was confirmed for was Johan Strauss. From what I understand, it was THE Johan Strauss, the musician. Then, that night for the teen thing, we played games, which I had a great time at.

Day Six:
Went Horse Back Riding, which was fun. Then went to Cameron Lake, and went on a row boat, which was fun. That night we went on the International, a boat that crosses the border. We saw a Bald Eagle doing that. Then, that night, we played fugitive, which was REALLY fun.

Day Seven:
Went to Red Rock Canyon. Saw a colony of little green spiders, which was cool. Then, on the way back, we saw a Grizzly Bear on the way back. In the parking lot there, we saw a mountain goat. Then, we left for Utah. Got to our hotel in Montana around 9.

Day Eight:
Got back! Finally.

So, that's my trip. I promise I will have pictures later, I don't have them ready now. So, that's it. Have a great day!

It's Over!

It's finally over! Summer gym is out! I had a great time today though. My shoulders don't hurt that bad anymore. That's it! Have a great day!

July, all mapped out.

Technical last day of summer gym. Make up day tomorrow, which I will be attending. So, Junes all most over, and the Fourth of July is almost here. So, I think it's time that I tell you my schedule for June, so you know what to expect from me.

First- July 9/10, leaving for Canada! Canada, wide open plains, mountains, icy cold water, hardly inhabited. Awesome huh? I'm going to Waterton National Park. Which actually is an international park, because it is the other half of Glaciel National Park. To learn more, click here or here. So, I guess I better explain why I'm going. I'm going for a family reunion. My Johanson family reunion. Johanson? Is that you mom's maiden name, your dad's last name. NO! I am a Matthews, and a Winward. My grandma's maiden name though is Johanson. She grew up in Canada, and the Johanson's are mostly from Canada. So, I'll be hanging out with a bunch of 3rd and 4th cousins, if not 5th, but definitely 2nd, that I don't even know! The whole town really is hotels, so, almost everyone there I would be related to. I'm staying there for a week, and am going to have a heck of a time. I'll try to post while I'm there, on my laptop, but wheter I'll get wifi there or not, will be found out.

Second- July 27-August 1. Scout camp, going to Camp Aspen Ridge, in Idaho. I would give you a link, but sadly can't find one, sorry. So, I'm there all week! No posts from me then. Sorry to disappoint you, but, no posts then. So, I'm gone all week, hanging with my buddies, camping, and eating, hopefully, good food. I'll be working on scout merit badges, so I can eventually get my eagle. That's it, I believe. I have Fourth of July stuff, but, that doesn't matter. I have nothing else I believe. Piano Recital

I promised I would talk about my piano recital, so I will. I did well, from what I'm told, but, whether I or you believe it, is up to the person in question. We started our basketball tournament today. My team is AMAZING! We've one once out of like five games. Oh well, who cares? In gym, we did 3 intervals of nine minutes running today, the first wasn't bad, but the second was horrible. We did the indian run, if you don't know what that is, let me explain it to you. You have a group, and you run in single file, and the person in the back runs to the front. Then when their there, the new person in back does the same thing, and so on a so forth. It hurt! I'm pretty excited, I get to learn a new instrument soon. It's one I've all ways wanted to play, and now I will. Any guesses? It's an instrument my good friend JT plays. Lost

We lost the championship today. We just weren't at the top of our game. Oh well, we still took 2nd place. Oh well, moving on. I have a piano recital today, and I'll tell you about that later. Nothing much going on. So, I guess this is it. Have a great day!

Volley Ball Tournament

We continued our volley ball tournament to day. We're finishing it tomorrow, I'm am excited cause I won the most important game yet for us. Do I sound cocky? Sorry if I do, I'm telling the truth though. We had tied in winning games with them so far, and then they where winning. We had to get to 15 to win, but we had to have 16 because we have to win by 2. We were 15, and they were 14. I served, and for some really weird reason, they didn't get it back over. I was surprised. Have a great day!

Volley Ball

Today we started our volley ball tournament in gym today. My teams undefeated! We might lose tomorrow, but, so far, so good. It seems like everyone's getting sick lately. It's pretty crazy. Well, have a great day!

Golfing

I'm going golfing today! Who cares? Well, yesterday, my cousin Jason had his mission farewell. He's going to Brazilia Brazil. His older brother left in March, and went to Manchester, England. It's been pretty busy at times for me. I can't believe that youth conference was only a few days ago, it feels like for ever. Worked on Escape a little bit yesterday, but not much. Thats it, have a great day!

New!

My blog now has a new look and layout! I think it is awesome. First of all, tell me what you think please. So, nothing to do again. My blog is now called The Adventures of Garrett. I won't change the web address though, so don't worry. I know I will not use word press, I seem to hate it for some reason unbeknownst to me. I have summer gym again tomorrow, and I'm going golfing! I don't really know what it will be like, cause I haven't ever gone golfing. Did you know that golf was invented in Scotland, and it stands for Gentlemen Only Ladies Forbidden. What do you think of that?! A little sexist, I know. But, it was invented a few hundred years ago. So, I didn't work on Escape at youth conference, just like I thought. Last night I did a little, but, you'll have to wait some. I posted my first chapter and the prologue on jeremiahpena.com/forum, and I have them in the wrong order, so, sorry. My bad. Nothing to Do

There's been nothing to do lately. I enjoyed youth conference, but, I'm back now. Today though, Ryan and I did a video podcast, something like a v-cast I guess. Back

I'm back! Youth Conference was AWESOME!!!! One of my regrets though, was, being to embarrassed really for the dance. I was there, but, didn't have the best of times because of my shyness. "CURSE YOU SHYNESS!" Ok, with that out of my system, I'll carry on. We were at Snow College, in Ephraim. We visited the Manti Temple, (I tried to get a picture, but my phone died.) We helped out for the Manti Pageant. Played some games, got drenched by rain, and visited Palacade Lake, a State Park just south of Manti, I think. There, I saw four lizards between 4 and 7 inches long. Two of them were those thorny devil ones, where their scales pop up, and they cry blood, and the other two where blue bellied lizards. I got sunburned on my face, and my arms are more tan then they used to be. Have a great day!

Youth Conference

First of all, I'm not here today or Friday, so, sorry, no post. Ok, with that out of the way we can move on. I'm planning on working on Escape over at youth conference. Maybe. Most likely though, not going to do it, but I can hope. Today was pretty boring especially with my internet being stupid most of today. Summer gym was funner than yesterday though. Have a great day!

Notin

There is nothing to do! I had summer gym today, and it was BORING! Anyways, I went over to my friend named Mike yesterday. He and his family got 4 Rex Rabbits, (look them up on Wikipedia, under Rex Rabbit Standard) and they are really cute! 2 are 5-6 weeks old, and the others are about 10 weeks old. When they have babies, I really, really want one. But, knowing my dad, I won't be able to. Why you ask? My dad doesn't want us to have pets, and he's allergic to all animals with fur. Sucks, I know. Random Thoughts

First day of no school! Well, nothing much to post about, but I'll try. My webs site is definitely dead. Oh well, it's been like that for a while. Jeremiah is trying to convince me to use wordpress, and I might, and he says I could transfer everything from here to there, but who knows? Anyways, I actually got some commenting on my last post, I'm so happy. Anyways, Jeremiah came out with a new movie (witch I can't see because of my computer blocker thingy) but I have seen some of it before it was released. Nothing

There's nothing much going on today. But, I'm still happy. Sense there's no one commenting, I will stop posting. Just Joking! Did I have you going? But seriously, it's boring when no one comments. So, even if your just a random person, comment! Please? Anyways, I guess I should post and Escape update. I wrote a lot yesterday, but haven't typed it yet. Might just do that soon. I have changed the first chapter, thats what I wrote yesterday, and I might just post it as a "teaser chapter" if you read it, tell me what you think. Garth heard the horse hooves first. Looking up, he saw the soldiers riding towards their farm. Then, his father looked up. A flash of fear on his face, then it was gone, Squaring his shoulders, Garths fater walked up to the soldiers. Garths father was a tall man, but he had to look up at the man astride the horse. "What do you want?" Garth's father asked.
"The payment," the man answered.
Garths fathers face paled at the words, "W-we aren't ready yet. We haven't had suff-" Garths father started.
"Then you understand the punishment?" the man questioned.
"Now look here!" Garths father bellowed. "Give us time and we will pay!"
"The payment! Now!" The man barked. Angrilly, Garth's fater pulled his knife out and shoved it into the mans chest. His father didn't even have time to withdraw his knife before his head was rolling on the ground in a puddle of blood. The second in command barked an order and the soldiers split into two groups. One coming towards him, and the others with lit torches going towards his house. Garth's knuckles turned white as he gripped the hoe's staff tight. Feeling an urge to run, he just about did. But, then he heard the screams. His head shot towards the source of the noise. He saw in horror his house, otlined by orange light and shadowed by black. His mother screamed again as the orange flames licked higher into the sky. Rage boiled in his blood. He was filled with blind fury. He opened his mouth and screamed a howl of rage. Then another scream was sent to the sky. He raised his farmtool above his head. Then, he felt his arm twitch. Embarressment only added to his anger, for he thought he would be made fun of. His vision was clouded by red, and his ears closed to all sound but his pounding heart. Rushing the oncoming soldiers, he saw their bewildered faces, and he grew more angry. Knowing they must be making fun of him, he turned and swung the hoe. His blood on fire, he felt it connect through his whole body. Looking toward the point of impact he saw a horse opening it's mouth and falling down, it's knee in splinters. The man astride the horse was trying to get out of the sadle, but as the horse hit the ground, he was trapped. Garth looked around him as horses shied and backed up from the screams of their companion. One of them stepped on the man and ended his miserable existance. Grinning from his success, he swung again. This time though, a strong hand grabbed the hoe and flung it and Garth to the side. Thudding against a tree, Garth felt his back pop. Gasping for breath, he stood up and bent over and coughed up some blood. Wiping his mouth he looked up at the oncoming horses, their riders raising their swords. Losing his rage, he felt cold harsh fear now. Stunned, he could do nothing. Then, a rock hit him in the head from the running legs of a horse, kicked up by it's hooves. Shaking his head, Garth turned and ran into the nearby forest, the emblem of the soldiers burned into his mind.

Writers Conference

The writers conference was great! I enjoyed learning more skills on writing, and I believe my writing will be better because of it. I didn't win the contest, and sadly, my entry wasn't even in the area because they forgot mine and three others, so no one could see my entry. Oh well, it doesn't matter. Have a great day!

Sorry (again)

Sorry about not doing the whole "consistent post thing" I've been busy. But, not anymore! I'm done with school! Woo hoo! And the best part is.... *drum roll please* ..... My mom teaches, and she doesn't get out of school till July 2nd! I'm home alone till then. Tomorrow, I might not do a post, cause I'll be in Ogden most of the day, at the teens writers conference, tell you about that when I can. And next Wednesday, I think, I start summer gym, but then I have youth conference and will be gone Wednesday night and Thursday, and part of Friday. Update on Escape: Not much, I can't get a good start for it, countinue working though. Dragon Rider of Metak, haven't worked on it for a while sence Escape, work on latter, maybe. Have a great day!

The Hunt For Dark Infinity

The Hunt For Dark Infinity is coming! Ya! :) One more week! I am beyond words, beyond exicted, beyond escalated, beyond extatic, beyond thrilled! I am suffering 'cause I just finished The Journal of Courious Letters probablly about 15 minuets ago. I loved it! And now I'm sad, 'cause the second book isn't out yet. Almost out though. I'm going to try pre-ordering it at Barnes and Noble dot com, at www.bn.com/ with a gift card I got for christmas. I was planning on reading The Journal of Courious Letters earlier, but with school, I had to read books for my Language Class.

On a different note, I got home from the dentist not to long ago. The weird thing was that the lady cleaning my teeth and stuff, she was really talkitive to me. I thought it was interesting. I was kinda shocked 'cause she told me her "exciting news", boring! :( Her sister got kissed. BLUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *shuder* *shudder*. She thought that was exciting! And to top matters off, she said that I was the first one she told!

About Dragon Rider of Metak, I thought it wasn't that good, so I think I'm going to stop writing it. Instead, I'm starting to write a Sci-Fi book, one that I can't think up a title for.
